About the Artist

I've always been a creative soul, but hesitated to follow my instincts and heart until recently. As a self-taught artist, I find my art to speak for me. Though I have considered formal training, I fear that my perspective would change to the point of creativity becoming work rather than play.

As an artist, I am fascinated by the wondrous beauty of nature. From the smallest seed to the largest mountain, I find comfort in their beauty. My photography and artwork seeks to not capture, but celebrate the fantastic world around us. I also see art as away to connect with people around me and, perhaps not so close to me. Sharing art also shares ideas and creates a connection even where no other connection exists.

My abstract imagery developed through toying with fractals, which are mathematically based images. As I tinkered with fractals, I was awed to find that I identify with them as much as I do with nature - perhaps because I was also surprised at their beauty and simplicity - and more because many of the shapes and imagery mimicked nature itself. In some way, I feel that every part of life, whether nature or mathematics, is truly interwoven.
